  • Dork the last of the Dali puppies is ready to find his forever home. He is 8 months old, very playful and gets along well with other dogs. He loves chew toys and nylabones. He's a talker and loves to tell you about his day. When he is really excited, he grins from ear to ear. So cute.
  • Teba is a big girl with a big personality.  She did not have a great start in life and because of that would have to be the only dog in the home.  She is very lovable and playful.  She absolutely hates cats, so no homes with cats.
  • Jasper is our sweet mascot. He had a really tough start in life and has decided that he likes having the run of the rescue just fine. Jasper is a permanent resident, so look for him when you visit. He loves treats.
  • Bo is a funny little guy that has a lot of personality. He has a lot of energy and would love to be in an active family. Bo does get along with other dogs but can be a little bit bossy.
  • Hayden is a big boy and loves to chase a ball (any ball, even snowballs). He is very lovable, but would do best as the only pet in the household. He doesn't like to be confined and sometimes is a little intense when he is ready to go for a run. Hayden would like to have a home with or without children, he would probably be okay with a female dog but no boys please.
  • Clemetine is a sweet, shy girl that is looking for just the right family to adopt her. She loves to play with her friends Nevin and Abel. She is very even tempered and so lovable.
  • Bentley is a Catahoula and a gem!! A true diamond in the rough (pun intended). He has the kind of temperament that many dog owners dream of. Laid back, loyal and an endurance athlete in the making! No longer a puppy, but certainly not an old man.
  • Perry is the last of the puppies. He is now 8 months old and wondering why no one wants to take him home.
  • HONEY HAS BEEN ADOPTED AND IS LIVING IT UP IN HER NEW HOME.
  • Junior is a big rambunctious boy. He will need some training, but he is eager to please. He is great with other dogs, but sometimes has to be reminded that is bigger than most dogs. When he is really excited, his tail goes in a circle so his nickname has become Rotor.

Next open house is Sunday, May 19th from 1- 4 pm.

Update: Teba is doing very well and recovering quickly. She has gained an amazing 35 lbs, bringing her to 136 lbs. She is playful and loving; just a true dane. She still isn't sure how to behave around other dogs, but is getting used to them more each day. She loves to lean and give big sloppy kisses. I have found her favorite toy to be a rope with a ball on the end. She looks amazing and I will post new pictures very soon.

Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing abandoned Great Danes from North and South Carolina in safe and loving homes.

Founded in 1984, Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas, Inc. is devoted to saving beautiful gentle giants and educating the public on the growing problem with abandonment, abuse, and surrender.  We are a no-kill shelter and support spay neuter programs.

Great Dane Rescue of the Carolina's is funded 100% by donations.  With an ever growing number of dogs in need, we need continued support and assistance for medical care, pet meds and housing during the adoption process.

We recommend that you check the website after 11am on every open house day to make sure we are open, all open houses are weather permitting!

Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing you!
