  • Elvis is a sweet boy that needs to be loved and exercised. He is very vocal when you are not paying attention to him.
  • Christian is a high energy dog and would be great for an active family. He loves people and has recently discovered that he really likes playing with his new kennel mate Zeus.
  • Toggle has suffered some abuse in the past and doesn't like to have hands or leashes above his head. He's better with women, than men. He also has some food issues, since he didn't always get fed in his last home. Because of this, he will need to be the only dog in the home.
  • Hudson is a sweet boy, but does not do well with other dogs. He must be the only dog in the home. He is okay with kids, but will only be adopted to a home with children over the age of 10.
  • Blake and his buddy Evan were abandoned by their owners at a house up the road from the rescue. They are very sweet and lovable, get along with other dogs and love kids. We don't know how they would do with a cat, because, well we just don't have any here.
  • Bo is a funny little guy that has a lot of personality. He has a lot of energy and would love to be in an active family. Bo gets along with other dogs and loves children.
  • Charity (aka-Bess) is a sweet girl. She tolerates other dogs, but would prefer to be the only pet. She would be a great companion for an older couple or a family with older children. She only wants to be loved and to please you.
  • Rorie is a sweet boy that needs to be loved and exercised. He needs to be on a diet to lose the weight he has gained while in rescue. He gets along well with other dogs and absolutely loves his brother Elvis. He likes kids and would make a great family pet.
  • Abel is a very sweet boy. He gets along well with other dogs and loves to run. He would be a great running partner for someone.
  • Abby is still a young girl at heart looking for her TRUE forever home. She is a little distrusting of others and nervous. But inside, there is a wonderful heart who is looking for a nice place to lay her head. Abby does get along with other dogs and would do great with a medium to large male dog who will run and play with her. Abby would also be best in a home with kids over 10.
  • Bentley is a Catahoula and a gem!! A true diamond in the rough (pun intended). He has the kind of temperament that many dog owners dream of. Laid back, loyal and an endurance athlete in the making! No longer a puppy, but certainly not an old man.
  • Clyde is house broken, loves to play with toys, get along well with children, strangers, other animals and above all, knows his name and comes when called. He has bonded with his sister Bonnie after living together at the rescue and in their foster home, therefore, we would like them to be adopted together.
  • Petunia is as smart and athletic as she is beautiful! All you Frisbee players out there~ THIS IS YOUR GIRL!!! I have never seen a dog that could jump like this!!!! Amazing!!!She loves nothing more then to hang out with you and given a little attention, time and training..... she could be the a champion frisbee dog!!
  • Sarah is a sweetheart and loves her people. She gets along well with male dogs, but tends to be alpha with female dogs. She loves, loves, loves kids. She would make a wonderful family pet.
  • Jett is a small Lab mix with a beautiful caramel color. Jett does need some work with his leash skills and manners. Jett would do best in a home as the only pet.
  • Amos is a Lab/Mastiff Mix who came in with his brother, Andy. They can be timid when approached, but are loving with a patient person.
  • Clemetine is a sweet, shy girl that is looking for just the right family to adopt her. She loves to play with her friends Nevin and Abel. She is very even tempered and so lovable.
  • Andy is a Lab/Mastiff Mix who came in with his brother, Amos. They can be timid when approached, but are loving with a patient person.

It's beginning to get colder outside and it looks like it is going to be a tough winter.

If you have blankets that you no longer use, we can!

Please consider making a donation of blanket, quilts, or comforters that will help to keep our dogs warm this winter.

We and the dogs thank your for your continued support.

Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to placing abandoned Great Danes from North and South Carolina in safe and loving homes.

Founded in 1984, Great Dane Rescue of the Carolinas, Inc. is devoted to saving beautiful gentle giants and educating the public on the growing problem with abandonment, abuse, and surrender.  We are a no-kill shelter and support spay neuter programs.

Great Dane Rescue of the Carolina's is funded 100% by donations.  With an ever growing number of dogs in need, we need continued support and assistance for medical care, pet meds and housing during the adoption process.

The rescue will show dogs by appointment in addition to our twice monthly open houses.  Open house is the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month (weather permitting).  Appointments made the day of open house will take priority over walk in visitors.  Please call our hotline to schedule an appointment to meet our adoptable dogs.

Thanks in advance and we look forward to seeing you!
